Scouting is all about tradition. The Rosslyn Scouting Group has a tradition... Halloween Camp. And at Halloween camp our tradition is to make Halloween Candy Apples!
We have tried a few different techniques... some work well, and others... well, not so much....
And we have learned that a whole Candy Apple is just far too much to eat... and as a Scout is wise in the use of their resources, we have reduced the size of our sugary treat to a more manageable size.

- Unwrap caramel squares and place in a small crock pot, add water.
- Cook on high for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until caramel is melted. Stir frequently
- Meanwhile, wash and dry apples
- Just before dipping apples, quarter and remove core
- Insert popsicle stick into one end of the apple
- Dip apple quarters into hot caramel and then your favourite sprinkle.
- Cool apple quarters on parchment paper... don't use wax paper... you have been warned!!
