What do you do when you are with 6500 of your closest Scouting buddies in the middle of no where and there isn't a cookie anywhere?
You make your own treats from the leftovers at camp!
We had a great deal of left over cereal, instant oatmeal, apples and lettuce at CJ13. We improvised and made "Apple Crisp" with instant oatmeal and apples. I can't remember how we ended up with extra marshmallows, but I know we never quite found a good use for all the leftover lettuce.
- 40 marshmallows
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 6 cups assorted cereal - rice crispies, corn flakes, Cheerios
- Once the marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and add cereal. Stir to combine
- Press cereal mixture into a greased pan and let cool
- Cut into square and enjoy
